Euphoria Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring Pretty Lights Live & More!

EuphoriaPhase1

Euphoria Music Festival is set to return for it's sixth year from April 6th-9th in 2017. Previous year's lineups included an impressive variety of fan favorites like Bassnectar, Above & Beyond, Zed's Dead, RL GRIME, Datsik, Big Gigantic, Beat's Antique and so many more. After playing host to some of the greatest talent in the industry, you would think it would be challenging for Euphoria to top previous lineups year after year.

After today's first phase announcement, it's clear their veteran ability to put together a list of great talent has not diminished. The first round of headliners include Alesso, Pretty Lights Live, Young Thug, Bob Moses, Chronixx, The Floozies, The Knocks and Papadosio.  Additional 2017 performers include Dr. Fresch, Poolside, Tennyson, Unlike Pluto, The Funk Hunters, Medasin, Raven Felix, Capyac, Flamingosis, Maddy O' Neal. Psymbionic, Blunt Force, Brede, Sip Sip, Slice Gang, and Willgood.

Euphoria will return to Carson Creek Ranch located close to downtown Austin, Texas along the Colorado River. Fortunately, improvements are being made to this year's Euphoria festival like additional camping options and shuttle services.

3 day GA passes are set at a surprisingly affordable price of $129. If you plan on camping, you can add a camping pass to your admission for an additional $90 for a total of $219. There are also "Fly Life" VIP packages available which offer preferred viewing areas, private bars, additional restrooms, showers, concierge service, luggage drop-off, and express entrance. VIP 3 day admission stands at $239 without camping and $369 with camping. There is also an option to enroll in a payment plan that splits the total cost to monthly payments.

2016 has lived up to its potential, but its getting close to time to see what’s on the other side. And since we’ll all be there, maybe we can put something together for the night before to make your NYE weekend in Asheville worth all the while.

So Griz fans rejoice! Your holiday season just got a WHOLE lot sweeter and what better way to celebrate? “The Get Down” New Year’s eve event takes place in Asheville, NC at the U.S. Cellular center. We hope you’re as excited as we are!

Festival Review: Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2016

Festival season has officially kicked off with an epic and very successful first year festival; Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival! This first-year festival did more than catch a few festival-goers. It SOLD OUT, opening its doors to over 35,000 people! With five stages, sandy beaches, a once-in-a-lifetime "powwoww," and an impressive array of festival activities, Okeechobee paved the way to an unforgettable experience. What a phenomenal way to begin the 2016 festival season!

Here are a few reasons why Okeechobee Festival was so successful through the eyes of your average festy-goer:

1)   Smooth Sailing and Organization: The most important concept of a festival is the smooth running logistics behind it.  Being present throughout the duration of this fresh festival, I can attest that from the drive in, to the drive out, the event radiated an organized rhythm. The festival was stacked with numerous volunteers on hand to guide excited attendees and tend to their every need. The main stage commute was a seamless journey complete with easy going checkpoints and all.

2)   Multiple Stages: Okeechobee Festival did it right providing live music 24hrs a day, morning, noon and night. Two of the five stages were dedicated to providing late night entertainment for the insomniacs to dance the night away! The 3 main stages, entitled Be, Here, and Now, hosted a majority of the main acts totaling over 200 artists. The festival organizers did a great job of distancing the five stages so as not to interfere with the sound barrier as well providing short commutes for worn out spectators. Lastly, the Floridians made sure to provide plenty of shaded areas for those unaccustomed to the southern heat. They even had palm trees for you to hang your hammocks in. I personally watched a few sets from the comfort my hammock while relaxing in the tropical woods.

3)   Artist Variety: Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, Skrillex, Robert Plant, Odesza, The Avett Brothers, Future, and Big Gigantic don’t even cover half of the headliners that performed at this festival! Every artist played a phenomenal set and the crowd seemed to reciprocate their energy. Whether a day-tripper or a night owl, you were always surrounded by other upbeat individuals. To top it off, the artists and performers only added to the sensational experience. Seeing the different attendee cultures was a magical experience.

4)   Good Vibe Tribe: Entering the Okeechobee portal with good vibes came easy. Everything and everyone around you including the beautiful tropical forest radiated positive energy! The festival worked hard to provide a clean and sustainable experience to ensure each festival guest was comfortable and relaxed. Such accommodations provided the perfect surroundings for which hungry festival-goers could feed their soul with creativity and connect with the unique people around them.

5)   The Experience: Personally, I was so amazed by this experience; Okeechobee is now my top-rated music festival. The landscaping was absolutely perfect accompanied by an assortment of artists allowing me to expand my music appreciation to new genres. The weekend’s sunshine still has me daydreaming of the incredible experience that was Okeechobee. My advice: DO NOT miss Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival 2017 and enter into the irreplaceable portal of imagination and creativity!

Overcoming Festival Anxiety

Mental health has recently become an extremely popular topic among industry leaders around the world.  Although this trending issue is brought up more frequently in everyday discussions, not much is being done to alleviate the ongoing battle of anxiety in every day life.

As someone who has suffered with depression and anxiety throughout my life, I know all too well how difficult and impossible following one's dreams can seem. Specifically focusing on anxiety, the threat of this fear comes in many forms. I mostly deal with Generalized Anxiety and Social Anxiety, both of which can be a real pain in the butt when trying to network or just going out to have fun.

When anxiety hits, you may question yourself thinking things like: “Am I annoying them?” or “Are they talking about me?” or even “What if they don’t like me?” Eventually giving in to these thoughts can be overwhelming and intimidating crippling your overall festival experience. I am here to tell you that this does not have to be the case!

Your anxiety does not run you. Your anxiety does not define you.

Would you tell someone to stop chasing their dreams because of a minor inconvenience or would you tell someone that overcoming adversity is part of the adventure?

Here are some good things to help you overcome your anxiety not just in the festival world but in real life:

1) You are not your anxiety.

Yeah, your anxiety is a part of you. Yes, it can sometimes get the best of you. However, it does not define your entirety or even a majority of it. You are so much more than your anxiety and before anyone else will see that, you have to believe it yourself. It’s hard, I know—but it’s there and it’s a fulfilling process.

2) Everyone is not against you.

A good friend once told me, "Your mind can be a tricky, manipulative thing and try to persuade you to think things are one way when really, they are not like that at all. Believe in yourself, take a risk and most of all don't be afraid to be yourself. You'd be surprised how many people are open to getting to know the real you, despite the anxiety that causes self doubt. "

3) We are all just people.

When you take a step back and think about it, we are all just people. Yeah, some people have more money and others more confidence, but at the end of the day we all still have a fire inside pushing us to follow our dreams. Don’t let one person’s success stop you from achieving your own. Adversity is part of the journey, embrace the challenges and lessons they bring.

Stay Strong. Follow Your Dreams. Muhfuggin SLAY.
